Mid-West Meltdown

Well, I certainly wasn't expecting to post so soon. My flights to Chicago/Champaign this morning were canceled due to severe weather (can you say -30 degrees?) My only reschedule options were a late night flight from PHL to Houston to Champaign. Waaay outa the way. Or, a Saturday flight that would get me to Champaigne about the time I should be clearing my throat and setting up my Power Point presentation....sigh. After yesterday's crash on the Hudson, I'm breathing a little easier, but to miss this golden speaking opportunity and hang with some really cool people has me mighty, mighty bummed today.
UPDATE: Got a call from the powers that be and I've already been put on the schedule for next year's conference. YAY! Only 364 days away.

Sorry you won't be able to be there. It's difficult to have these things in Winter, as you see for yourself. Maybe another chance down the road.

Hi Patricia!
Was thinking about you today. Did you attend the grower's conference out there last week?

As we are not growers, just retailers, no I was not there. I do have some input and direction as to what is grown for us, though, and have been instrumental in getting a lot of new S.E. Asian varietals in curcurbits, etc. grown for us. Bitter Melons, other long Asian melons, are very healing to the system, but not in cool weather, lol!
Maybe your talk can take place at another time. So sorry, I would have driven you down to Champaign-Urbana. It would have given us a nice time to see/hear your speech and see what other Midwestern Herbalists are up to.
Maybe another time.

Oh Sue, I understand your disappointment, but given all the circumstances, I am glad you are home snug as a bug in a rug, so to speak!
