Faery Sleep

Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
with a faery hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.
~William Butler Yeats

Faery sleep. That can be the only explanation. One moment I was filling baskets with tomatoes and basil with
the setting sun warm on my shoulders. The next moment I was slowly waking to the sound of crows cackling, in a cold bedroom wearing wool socks and flannel. From under layers of quilts this morning, I focused my eyes on an unbelievable sunrise lighting the walls surrounding my bed. I peered out, surprised to see the leaves are now stripped from the trees and remnants of snow and wind below in the garden. I must clear my head...there are many vague dreams of long autumn days, distant travels, abundant harvests and women laughing and...weeping,too. This all may take a bit of sorting, this long faery sleep, but for now, all that matters is blowing on the embers that are glowing in the woodstove and putting the kettle on....right after I marvel the brilliant day I woke up to. ((Stretch and yawn)) Thanks dear Faeries, it's good to be back.....
